Lisätietoja aktiviteetista

Depart the coastal town of Noosa at 7am after your early morning pick-up in a roomy, comfortable, air-conditioned mini-van and head inland to the lush, cool fertile HInterland. Along the way, drive through the villages of Doonan and Eumundi, lined with art galleries, craft shops, and road-side fruit stalls. The scenery soon changes to rolling green hills, deep pockets of rain forest as we climb the magnificent Blackall Range passing picturesque towns of Palmwood and Mapleton. Spectacular views in all directions of magnificent mountains, lush green valleys, and the glorious Pacific Ocean heralds our arrival to our destination for the morning bushwalk.

After an overview about safety, wildlife and the track we head off at a slow pace - walking slowly and quietly is the best opportunity to observe wildlife in their natural habitat and it also allows your senses to fine-tune to the green space and wild life that surrounds you. The track on natural, moderate terrain and meanders through rainforest and open eucalypt forest, along creeks and stunning views.

The rainforest is ancient and features bunya pine, hoop pine, piccabeen palms. Along the creek flats very tall flooded gums emerge from the rainforest and black bean, blue quandong, and strangler figs, dominate the upper canopy hosting a variety of epiphytes and delicate orchids. In this surrounding we will enjoy fresh locally sourced morning tea amid Eastern yellow robins, a variety of honeyeaters and wrens.

Refreshed you will start to notice your senses tuning into the sights, sounds and smells of the Bush. Notice the landscape changes to open forests featuring grey ironbark, tallowwood and mountain bracken fern appear throughout. Epiphytes occur along the track in abundance. Bird’s nest fern, staghorn and elkhorn fern and a variety of orchids can be seen. Your guide will interpret the wildlife, endemic plants & animals, the little beauties in Nature so often overlooked. You begin to pick-up the of the nuances in the natural green world: the calls of the Sulphur-crested cockatoo and Australian king parrot; scent of the Eucalypt, texture of the earth underfoot or a rough Bunya pine tree, see a shy red-legged pademelon or a water dragon scurrying to a creek.

Leave the forest at the end of the walk relaxed and rejuvenated and prepare for the return home. A refreshing cool face-washer is a welcomed top-up. We re-trace the morning drive - the scenery is always different on the way back. You will appreciate where you have been as you see the rugged mountains where we hiked slope to the green rolling valleys that give-way to the deep-blue Pacific Ocean. Back at your accommodation enjoy a soak in a spa or a walk on the beach, relax and enjoy the rest of your visit to the Sunshine Coast, also know as Australia's Nature Coast.
