Stop At: Old Town Square, Staroměstské nám., 110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město, Czechia

Meet your guide in central Prague and make your way to the main bus station (5-10 min walking distance from the meeting point in Old Town Square). Then, board the private bus for Kutná Hora, the Czech Republic’s ‘City of Silver’ — a 13th-century silver mining town in central Bohemia that competed with Prague for power and riches in the Middle Ages.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Church of All Saints, Kutna Hora Czech Republic

Admire the Bohemian countryside, arrive in Kutná Hora and head for your first stop, the Sedlec Ossuary. On the way, hear more about Kutná’s history and how the town grew after the establishment of the Sedlec Monastery, a sanctuary for Cistercian monks, in the 12th century. Head inside the Sedlec Ossuary and gape at the macabre, bone-made interior. Inspect the chandelier and furnishings made entirely from human bones, and hear how the interior contains the skeletons of around 40,000 people. As you take in the bone creations, you’ll understand completely why the ossuary draws flocks of visitors.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Historic Centre of Kutna Hora, Kutna Hora Czech Republic

Next, head for Kutná’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, a treasure chest of medieval architecture.

Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes

Stop At: St Barbara's Cathedral, Barborska Street, Kutna Hora 284 01 Czech Republic

Visit the magnificent Gothic Church of St Barbara and marvel at its echoing interior, replete with frescoes that show medieval miners. As you walk round, hear how the church was dedicated to St Barbara, the patron saint of miners, and was part of Kutná’s efforts to rival Prague.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Hradek, the Little Castle, Kutna Hora Czech Republic

After, delve further into the romantic streets and squares, passing gems such as the Hrádek palace.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Italian Court, Havlichkovo namesti 552/1, Kutna Hora 284 01 Czech Republic

See the Italian Court — the former Royal Mint.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Plague Column of the Virgin Mary Immaculate, Kutna Hora Czech Republic

Make a brief stop for lunch (own expense), and then check out more Kutná highlights, including the Knight’s Hall and richly carved Plague Column, before catching your return bus.

Duration: 1 hour

Pass By: Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock, StaromEstske NamEsti 1/3, Prague 110 00 Czech Republic

Your tour ends back in central Prague, when you say goodbye to your guide at the station.

This trip took us approx 1 hour out of Prague to see the Sedlec Ossuary and the cathedral at Kutna Hora. It was a very enjoyable trip and our guide Andy gave us information and stories to keep us entertained whilst still giving ample time to look around and get pictures. We had lunch in Kutna Hora also in a very nice restaurant called Dacicky. The food was traditional Czech style and it was very tasty. If you have the time to spare I recommend going on this trip (from approx 10am-5:30pm). Lots of interesting things to see and some sensational photo opportunities. If you get Andy as your guide then that's a bonus!

Overall a very good tour. Knowledgeable (Canadian) guide although a little over the top at times! Bone chapel a little creepy but worth the visit as so unusual. Recommended.

The Sedlec Ossuary is amazing, testament to human artistry even though some might find it macabre. Loved our time there. The town of Kutna Hora is lovely, especially St Barbara's Cathedral which is beautiful. Lunch at Dačický was really nice, the beer and food were good, especially the wild boar goulash which I had. Portions were generous and the quality was good. The tour guide Andy was great - very knowledgable and a fun guy to listen to, like his particular take on history and his style of telling stories.

The bus was very crowded with a group of Italian speaking clients. The English speaking were put at the back of the bus but unfortunately we wouldn't all fit so some were at the front so we could not hear our English speaking guide and could not undertstand the Italian. We were all rather forced into having lunch at a particular restaurant whether we wanted it or not which many of the clients found rather distastful. It was a long day as we went to a winery and two clients were lost so I guess we were late leaving. If I was to return I would find our own way to Kutna Hora. It was my second time there, only because I had a young adult grandson with me.

Excellent. Our guide Tijo was personable and spoke excellent English. I had thought we would have free time to explore, but the guide stayed with the group and took us to all the various sights. That was fine. Lunch was good and we enjoyed every stop. The church with the bone ossuary far exceeded expectations, as did St. Barbara's and the Italian court that had previously been the location of the mint. The town itself was quite atmospheric and charming. There were fantastic photo ops and it was a wonderful day. Highly recommended!!!
