Learn to taste and appreciate the pleasure of high quality chocolate like a Pro from Laurence, an Cocoa expert with a Phd in biology and specialty in Cocoa Bean research.

Scientific studies have established that natural Cocoa is good for health. It can fight cardiovascular diseases, stress, depression, and stimulates the intellect and memory. Cocoa contains flavanoids and other antioxidants, which help lower blood pressure, reduces LDL cholesterol, and balances certain hormones in the body.

Chocolate stimulates endorphin production, which gives a feeling of pleasure and t more immediate pleasurable aspects of chocolate like its taste, smell and feel will be the focus of our tasting session.

During your mini-masterclass you will learn :
• How to taste and serve chocolate.
• How do you make chocolate from bean to bar
• Where does the cocoa tree come from and who is growing it?
• The difference between commercial and artisanal chocolate
• Rules to consider when buying it.
• The art of blending ingredients.
• Where does the best Chocolate come from.
• Health aspects of chocolate

The Products

Laurence offer chocolate products that respect the environment and people, and which come from organic farming, fair trade, cocoa producing producing farmers, and very small, French, and European artisanal manufacturers like Bonnat and Pralus.

She looks for special, interesting, sometimes rare, and exceptional with new flavors like black with hops, cashew nut milk ...) with 100% very aromatic cocoa tablets or even unroasted raw chocolate, chocolates without allergens (lactose, soy, nuts or nuts), as well as vegan chocolates, with almond milk. There is something for everyone tastes.

• Single Plantation Chocolate 100% Criollo Cocoa from Madagascar
• Onaturo Zero-G 80% Cacao from Peru
• Bouga 100% Cacao and Sweetened with Dry Figs from Ecuador
• Amma 100% Cacao Brazil

During your masterclass you will taste:
• Raw Cocoa Beans
• 100% Cacao Liquor
• Choice of hot or cold chocolate drink
• 3 Grand Cru Dark Chocolates with distinct flavors
• 2 chocolates with distinct textures
• Milk Chocolate
• White Chocolate

After the tasting you will have a 20€ gift certificate to spend in the shop.

  • Your non refundable deposit covers your reservation fee and the host's introduction in English.
  • Your deposit can not be applied to the balance or any purchases.
  • Feel free to ask any questions during your meal but please note that your host may have other clients to serve from time to time so please be patient.
  • Your reservation will be held for 10 mins after which you become a No Show.
  • If you are late, your host may allow you to 1. Do the tasting / 2. Offer another time slot / 3. Cancel the tasting.
  • On arrival please alert the shop / restaurant to any particular dislikes or allergies and they will do their best to find another option.
  • At the end of your tasting session you may purchase additional fine products.
  • The specific selection of chocolate and beverages served will change according to seasonal availability and discretion of your host.
