When your cruise ship docks at the Villefranche-sur-Mer port, about 15 minutes up the coast from Nice, your guide will be waiting for you at the cruise terminal to take you on your half-day shore excursion to Eze and Monaco.

Board the 8-passenger minivan, and enjoy views of the French Riviera and the Mediterranean as you drive along the spectacular coastal road to your first stop, the lovely medieval village of Eze.

Eze offers breathtaking views of the Côte d'Azur from its hill-top location of 1,400 feet (427 meters). Start with a guided walking tour of the town, filled with charming artisan shops, and then head to the Fragonard perfumery to discover the exquisite art of French perfume making. Learn about the history of the esteemed Fragonard brand, trace the steps involved in perfume production and savor the fragrant aromas of the finished products.

Continue driving along the Middle Corniche through the village of La Turbie, known as the 'Terrace of Monaco,' where you’ll see an impressive Roman monument called the Trophy of the Alps (Trophée des Alpes). Then cross the border into the glamorous principality of Monaco — the second-smallest country in the world!

On the morning tour, you’ll attend the Changing of the Guard ceremony (performing 11:55am only) at the Prince's Palace (Palais Princier). Then head to Monaco Cathedral, the resting place of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace. Learn about the cathedral’s history and admire the fine Roman-Byzantine architecture.

Soak up Monaco’s luxurious atmosphere as you drive along the road used in the Formula One Grand Prix race event, which attracts thousands of motorsports fans from all over the world each year. Then take a stroll around Casino Square in Monte Carlo, the stomping grounds of the rich and famous filled with impressive hotels, luxury cars and beautiful gardens.

After your tour of Monaco, relax on the coastal drive back to Villefranche to conclude your half-day shore excursion.

Boring as reflected by the driver/guide attitude. While waiting to begin, we were switched from 3 different drivers. First one didn't want us waiting any longer for group to arrive. Second driver had to switch because he was only one able to speak Spanish. Assigned to Petyer who acted very disinterested. The first 2 driver/guides seemed very enthusiastic and looking forward to a good day. Ours, needed to be wakened up. Yes, we saw mostly what we expected even with the heavy traffic etc. Guide was not helpful in making the tour fun and enlightening. He never did ask if we were comfortable with the AC, never did point out restrooms, or suggestions when we had some free time. The perfume factory was a bore. Even the factory guide had to ask for our attention because we weren't paying attention. No mention was made about the "Changing of the Guard" that we were too late or that it even existed. The return to the terminal was mostly in silence. Two people were 10 minutes late but more importantly our driver/guide had to get back for a second tour. Maybe we just got a poor driver/guide. Would not recommend.

Tour guide was friendly and accommodating, but completely disorganized We wasted a lot of time getting started then we were rushed at each attraction And perfume factory is not necessary It’s just another way to get money from consumer. This was quite a sum of money for me as I was with my 3 adult daughters The tour guide was not as informative as I would have liked for the money I paid and her English could have been better Best to have her guide tours in her native language She is probably very knowledgeable but has difficulty conveying Make the change so others are not disappointed

A wonderful tour. Our group of 8 saw so much. Monaco was beautiful, and Eze is charming. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot of history with us as well as what it is like to live there today. Highly recommend this tour. Even the perfume factory was fun, and great products!
