After making your own way to Krakow Old Town, meet your guide at St Adalbert Church to begin your walking tour. Spend a minute admiring the 11th-century St Adalbert, one of the oldest stone churches in Poland, and then follow your guide across Rynek Glówny, the city’s main square and the largest medieval town square in Europe at 10 acres (4 hectares).

Marvel at the square’s design, which was created in 1257, as you walk to the northeast corner, where you'll see the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady (St Mary's Basilica), better known in these parts as the Mariacki. You may even hear the hejnal (bugle call) from the top of the taller of St Mary's two towers.

Next head to the center of the square, dominated by Cloth Hall, originally designed for the medieval rag trade. Walk inside the hall, where you’ll pass by the craft stalls before heading to Jagiellonian University, established in 1364 by Casimir III the Great. It is the oldest university in Poland and the second oldest in Central Europe.

After touring around Old Town, enjoy a quick break to rest and try out some of the best Polish Obwarzanek - unique bagel from Krakow.

Afterward, head to the Kazimierz district to see the Jewish synagogues and cemetery, and learn more about the history of the area. Continue to Wolnica Square to see Corpus Christi Church, a gothic structure with a baroque interior.

From Kazimierz, return to Old Town, ending your tour beneath the Wawel Castle.

Tour guide, Alex, was knowledgeable, intelligent, and energetic. He knew all the facts and fiction about all the places we went. He did, however, keep saying he would tell us the best places to eat and best places to shop but he never did. We did like him, though, and booked him (independently) for the next day but he never showed up. But the Viator tour was worthwhile and a must for getting an overview of Krakow. There is a lot to cover in Krakow and it is helpful to have a guide to give an overview.

A great introductory tour by our lovely tour guide Johanna. We took the tour on a cold and snowy morning and enjoyed the entire experience. Johanna showed us the old city and the Jewish quarter in a logical manner and kept us oriented both geographically and historically. The short break at a coffee house was just what we needed to warm up and recharge mid-way through our tour. We especially enjoyed working our way outside the former city walls, through the gate and down the royal route to the castle. Our local guide provided insight and context about some colorful historical figures and legends of the city which made the tour even more personable.

We did this tour on our first day in Kraków and the guide Joanna was lovely. She explained everything so clearly and showed us such a lot of this beautiful fascinating city. Kraków has so much history and tradition its lovely to see how passionate it’s people are about their beautiful home. Fantastic.

Great way to spend 3 hours in Krakow. You learn a lot about the history of the city and you go down streets and laneways and into buildings that you might otherwise walk straight past. The pace of the tour suits all ages and is highly recommended.

Krakow exceeded my expectations! Beautiful, fascinating and very clean city at least in all the parts I visited. I was a little concerned about how I would hold up on a 3 hour walking tour, but the guide paced the tour appropriately and even gave us break at a nice cafe with delicious cheesecake included in price. The guide himself was very well-informed and spoke excellent English - it was a very enjoyable and worthwhile tour. I highly recommend it.

Excellent tour with Karolina as our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the city and its history and added some amusing anecdotes and legends along the way. She was happy to answer any questions and we enjoyed her company. There is a lot of walking in the tour but it is at a good pace. There is a break midway through the tour where you den enjoy tea or coffee and a scrumptious piece of cake in a local restaurant. We covered around 8kms around Kraków but at no point thought that it was too long. The tour is in two parts with the second being the tour of the castle. We had a different guide for this but she too was excellent. Can highly recommend both parts of this tour.
