Chiang Mai's old city is the prettiest place in town — and also the best area for grabbing delicious Thai food. But with all the tourist restaurants in the 'hood cooking mediocre Khao Soy and bland Som Tum for backpackers, it can be hard to find the good stuff if you don't know where to look. That's where we can help! With our local guide by your side, we can help you discover the hidden spots where the food is authentic and locals love to eat.

Let us take you on the ultimate local tour that'll make all your foodie dreams come true. This Chiang Mai food tour will lead you to some of the best hidden restaurants and street food stalls inside the moat walls — and all within easy walking distance of the Thapae, Suandok, and Changphuak Gates. Our local, food-obsessed guides will share with you their handpicked all-time favorite spots. We'll introduce you to the places that only locals know about, tucked down back alleys, in quiet corners, and even hiding in plain sight, invisible to most tourists who walk past!

Try the most famous Khao Soy in town, followed with a towering sundae topped with chocolate and cornflakes (!) at a dessert shop frequented by local students. Or escape the old town altogether and hop aboard a Songthaew (those iconic red trucks) to the spiciest Som Tum (spicy papaya salad) you've ever tasted, hidden away in the residential neighborhood of Changphuak.
